Deodorant Toilet Blocks

Translate into French

Toilet cleaning cakes, also known as toilet blocks or solid cleansing and sanitizing tablets  are useful for the treatment of the flush water of toilets, cleaning, disinfecting and perfuming toilets under the rim of the bowl. They are also variously called rim blocks or (in-tank blocks or cistern blocks). Their chief mode of operation is to treat toilet flush water with chemicals so as to produce desirable effects such as bowl aesthetics, cleaning, disinfection, deodorization, etc. It is desirable that the chemicals (incorporated therein) be dispensed into the flush water automatically each time the toilet is flushed.  The blocks/tablets are designed to automatically dispense metered amounts of chemicals to effect cleaning, bleaching and sanitizing.

Making of the Toilet Deodorant
Pretty simple yet quite scientific. We prepare the trainee by introducing a two hour thorough theory about surfactants, binders, perfumery etc. This is followed by the actual formulation practicals that the student individually participates,  and later tests it at home. The whole process that takes about 6 hours is simplified for easy understanding. KEBS standards are strictly observed while raw material sourcing is demystified.

Market for Toilet deodorant tablets
The three main manufacturers (they enjoy the monopoly) have their merchandise in supermarkets shelves. This makes it for the impulse shoppers to acquire it occasionally when they visit the malls. Many are the times when they forget it in their shopping list. By getting e.g.  10 Sales Reps doing door-to-door distribution ( in, say, South B, Komarocks, Lavington, Ngumo, Buruburu, etc), a cottage manufacturer can drive off as many as 100 tablets per day (Assuming each Sales Rep sells only 10 pieces). The estimated turnover would therefore be 10,000 bob per day (from selected few estates like Nyayo, Muthaiga, to mention but a few) Now, if this is the case with Nairobi, how about the other parts of the country? We did an estimate for 15 major towns in Kenya alone, and the the total expected income estimated to be fairly over 100,000 Kenya shillings per day.
