Commercial Animal & Poultry Feed Production Course

In our endeavor to empower the citizens with knowledge and skills in industrial technology and processes, we have partnered with Uplands Animal Feeds and Express Marine Engineering PLC in offering a basic starter course in animal and Poultry feed processing.

This is a first – especially in the tight economy controlled by few opportunists. And participants in this new area of speciality will join 79 other companies that produce commercial feeds.

The multi million shilling venture is open to everyone. With new technology at service, one needs to invest a a small capital of Ksh 15,000 to 450,000.

Course Content and Duration
In keeping with the set standards of professionalism, we have the following curriculum for our trainees;

(Please note that the whole course is ran as a crash program and takes at least three days. However it can extend to 5 days (Sundays excluded) to keep in pace with individual preference and ability to internalize)
A. Introduction to basic animal/Poultry nutrition
B. Basic theory in feed processing and production
C. Internal quality control
D. Commercial Feed compounding
E. Preservation methods
F. Raw material sourcing, storage and preservation
G. Practical skills in feed processing and machine operation
H. Entrepreneurship, products branding, packaging, pricing and costing
J. KEBS certification procedures and requirements

Theory classes takes place at Nyota building along Accra road room 105 first floor and practicals at our Millennium Petrol station flats, basement floor along Kamiti road off Thika super highway.

    My interest is in human food manufacturing and the major challenge has been to find get the the right knowledge on manufacturing foods/juices/sifted unga/or pre-cooked formulas and packaging. Do you have any expertise in the field.

    • Hello Gabriel. Thanks for your compliments. As for the foods, we are currently training on commercial Juices, Energy Drinks, Tomato Ketchup, Jam and Condiments (eg “Royco”. Plans are underway to soon introduce Baby formulas (Uji), Bread Margarine and Sweets. We’re are soon approaching KEBS on this.
